Liam & Mathilda Wilson

Age: Liam 36 / Mathilda 33

Nationality: English / Swedish

Residence: Stockholm, Sweden

Background: Martial Arts / Military

Bio:

Liam is a military veteran, serving 5 years in the British Army before discovering Martial Arts in Sweden where he met his wife Mathilda who at the time was already a seasoned fighter.
Since joining forces both have been looking to evolve, pushing each other to actively train and compete in a wide range of combat sports including Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, K1 Kickboxing, Bareknuckle Boxing and Lethwei. As well as training for their own fights, both Liam and Mathilda spend a great deal of time passing on their knowledge by teaching Muay Thai and MMA at their local club in Stockholm - Kampsport Stadian. Knowledge that is also being absorbed by the next generation of ‘Wilf’ fighter, their young son Zion.

What are your most prominent personal achievements in your chosen disciplines?

For us as a couple it has always been our goal to fight on the same cards in a big event which hopefully will happen again soon. We have been lucky enough so far to do this twice in the Philippines under pro MMA rules and once in the UK in a bare knuckle event.
Liam – I held two European bareknuckle boxing belts which was a great achievement but being part of the KOTS (King of the Streets) scene back in Sweden where I hold a record of 4-0 is up there and where I class ‘home’ as a fighter.
Mathilda – I was the first ever women on TGAO (The Gloves Are Off) to compete in boxing and now the first woman from Scandinavia to compete bare knuckle which has been a long time coming. We were the first married couple in history to fight bare knuckle at the same card which was under the BFBA Promotion in the UK.

What are your main goals in the future?

Our main goal is to keep on evolving in Martial Arts together as a family and continue to do what we love – fight and compete.

Since having our son Zion, Mathilda had her comeback bout in early 2022, a bareknuckle card we both fought on and won. We have  fought together for BKFCUK but have now signed with the UK promotion BKB where we both feel at home. Our next event together will be in June back in London where Mathilda fights for a British Title strap. I’m (Liam) also waiting for an opponent with the same level of experience so I can get another fight in K.O.T.S, maybe towards the end of the year.
